Sino-Europe Cultural Week 2021

In cooperation with Sino-German Industrial Services zone(Sanlongwan)

Time: 2021.10.15-10.17

Artists: Christian Arndt    Marko Zink

The annual Foshan Sino-European Culture Week was held from October 15th until October 17th, 2021 in Culture Street Plaza, Foshan New Town, for which InterCulture was invited to create a cultural and artistic corridor. As an extended topic of “Environmental Protection” we discussed last year, the exhibition took "water" as the theme this year. The exhibition presented two large-scale installations: one was the “Undersea Tunnel” designed by InterCulture curatorial team based on the undersea photography series "Swimmer" by Austrian artist Marko Zink; The other was German artist Christian Arnd Müller's new material installation "Bubbles" inspired by water and light. The two artists juxtaposed two different forms of presentation of "Water", in which the sea is vast and deep, and the bubbles are tiny and agile. The water on the earth continually protects human civilisation in various forms, and it deserves the care and protection of human civilisation.

Inspired by water and light, German artist Christian Arndt's new material installation "Pearlescent Water Shadow" extracts tiny forms of water and magnifies them. Between concrete and abstract, between familiar and unfamiliar, between different media, we meet "water" again.

Marko Zink:

Constructed by Austrian artist Marko Zink based on his "Underwater Diver Series" photographs, the "Undersea Tunnel" restores the everyday objects symbolizing human civilization to the underwater world.
