On 25 January 2024, Sanlongwan Green Industry Forum was held on a Sanlongwan cruise ship, on invitation by the Foshan Sino-German Industrial Service Zone and NRW.Global Business , co-organized by GIZ (the German Agency for International Cooperation), the German Chamber of Commerce in South and Southwest China, InterCulture, and Foshan International Talents Hub (Sanlongwan).


The forum invited European/German and Chinese companies, especially from the Greater Bay Area. On the day of the event, guests first visited the KUKA Robotics in Foshan to learn about its advanced robotics products and its innovative energy concept. Afterwards, they returned to the cruise ship to participate in the Green Industry Promotion and Round Table, to discuss the trends and co-operation opportunities in the field of green industry between China and Europe.

Pan Dongsheng, Director of the Management Committee of Foshan Sino-German Industrial Service Zone (Foshan Sanlongwan Science and Technology City), said that Foshan is looking forward to deepening exchanges with European enterprises, strengthening industrial cooperation, and jointly realizing the goal of carbon reduction.


Roger Liang, Director of the Guangzhou Office of the International Business Agency of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, introduced in detail the business opportunities in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Dr. Jasmin Gong, co-founder of InterCulture, introduced InterCulture's activities in China and Europe, particularly sustainability projects that combine business with culture, technology with art.

Paul Recknagel, Head of the German-Chinese Climate Programme at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), gave a presentation on his work on Climate, Energy, Environment, Biodiversity and Industry & Trade clusters, as well as on the future direction of Sino-German co-operation on green economy.

Dr. Yu Ding, PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne, Germany, and an international expert in sustainable finance, provided useful insights to participants by focusing on "Building the bridge between Sustainable Development and Green Finance: ESG as profit and risk management tool".
